Miracle on the Precipice Wins Best Feature Film and a Lot More
(LOS ANGELES, CA, July 7, 2026) Miracle on the Precipice, a new film by Nathan Todd Sims, took the Best Feature Film award along with five (5) other prestigious awards at the Hard Faith Fest - L.A. at the Awards Ceremony on June 27 in the heart of Hollywood.
The film, inspired by The Pilgrim's Progress, stars Nathan Gamble of the $150 Million Dolphin Tale franchise, Jenn Gotzon (Frost/Nixon, Forgiven), Jim E. Chandler (Castle Falls, Law & Order), and introducing Venice Wong, along with Sean Patrick Flanery (The Boondock Saints, Nefarious) and Kevin Sorbo (Hercules, God's Not Dead).
The movie, planned for a theatrical release in early 2027, was written and directed by Sims, while producing with family, Gina Sims and Naomi Sims, and co-producing with Tiffany Sims. The producer team was rounded out with longtime collaborator, Stuart Lachlan Bennett.
The film competed next to this year's top indie faith-based films, many with much larger budgets and featuring stars like Martin Sheen, Cameron Arnett, Jana Kramer (One Tree Hill), Brett Varvel, and another film with Kevin Sorbo.
The Hard Faith Fest - L.A. was founded just four years ago by Spencer Folmar and has quickly become a prestigious mainstay in the faith-based ecosystem embodying Hard Faith theology, featuring real-world settings and flawed characters who find hope and redemption.
This year's festival had over 1,500 total submissions (feature films, short films, TV programs, and scripts) with only eight feature films being selected for screening.
Miracle on the Precipice was honored with a screening and the following awards and recognition:
- WINNER - BEST FEATURE FILM
- WINNER - BEST DIRECTOR - Nathan Todd Sims
- WINNER - BEST ACTRESS - Jenn Gotzon
- WINNER - BEST SUPPORTING ACTRESS - Venice Wong
- WINNER - BEST EDITING - Nathan Todd Sims & Naomi Sims
- WINNER - BEST VISUAL EFFECTS - Chris Centers
- NOMINATED - BEST SUPPORTING ACTOR - Sean Patrick Flanery
- NOMINATED - BEST CASTING - Dea Vise
According to Nathan Todd Sims, "This tremendous showing at the wonderful Hard Faith Fest further solidifies our strong belief that Miracle on the Precipice is headed for great success when it connects with the right audience."
The wins come less than two months after winning the coveted Audience Choice Award among 39 feature films at the International Christian Film & Music Festival (ICFF) in Orlando, FL.
The movie has also been recognized as an Official Selection in the upcoming Richmond International Film Festival (RIFF) in Virginia, notably a non-religious film festival.
Miracle on the Precipice is produced by The Harrowing Film, LLC with full production services provided by Sims' 35 year old Texas based production company, FusionFlix Entertainment.
